The Sunburst Shawl Coat features a 100% cotton quilt in the happiest color palette, that is perfectly faded and worn. It is hand-stitched and quilted, and medium weight with moderately dense batting, which gives it beautiful structure and warmth. It has a large internal pocket on the left side, perfect for carrying treasures, toddler snacks, or snacks for yourself. This quilt has led a full life before being transformed into a coat, and had lots of fading, discoloration, and wear, which is why I chose to work with it. I worked around the areas that I could, made some repairs, and included some of these areas as I think it gives it character and serves as a reminder of its history.
